»   Therapeutic Massage

At the Raffa Neuromuscular Treatment Center, our Therapists use an eclectic approach to their therapeutic massage treatments. Combining several different styles of massage, they create an individualized therapeutic treatment based on the needs of each client. Swedish massage or relaxation-based massage merges the knowledge of anatomy and physiology combined with modalities which relax and soothe the nervous system. One of the primary goals of Therapeutic Massage is to assist you in eliminating with what may be your number one complaint . . . STRESS.

Because massage relaxes the nervous system and alleviates muscle tightness, it can help relieve stress-related conditions, increase your freedom of movement and help you achieve a more balanced posture. This can free up energy you previously needed just to move or to hold yourself erect. Releasing tension around habitual postures, such as protectively hunched shoulders or aggressively tightened jaws, can actually reinforce positive feelings. Massage also increases circulation. This boosts the flow of energy-producing nutrients to your cells and speeds elimination of waste products that can make you feel achy or listless. Increased circulation is especially helpful in repairing tissues stressed by chemical addiction or eating disorders. Massage also boosts your immune system by relieving stress and increasing lymphatic flow, making you less vulnerable to illness at a time when you need all your resources.

You are joining a growing number of men and women who have found Therapeutic Massage to be a valuable addition to their health and fitness routines, and an effective complement to other health care services. Many people seek Therapeutic Massage as a natural means to promote healthy body functioning, and to enhance the body's own restorative powers.
